4th Street in santa monica




On 4th street in Santa monica, there is a small bar, which is specialized beers. i am not beer drinker but the selections of beers are quite outstanding. surprisingly the foods there is not just bar food. they use very fresh vegetable and produce from local farmers market. Every Wedesdays and Saturdays the farmers markets are held. I used to go there to get flowers and fruits. Now my schedule has not matched to go there, i should try to come there by bycecle. It is good ride distance from Venice Beach where I live.

Japanese food Festival 11/09/09

I visited Japanese Food Festival Event on Nov 9th 2009 in torrance. They have many Japanese cultural venders and food venders and performance. It was very entertaining. I wish the event and allthe vender were held inside of the facility. That way wouldn't be so cold and comfortable.And Also Sapporo Beers sales people werre there to give aways free beer. I personally like Yebisu Beer (premium sapporo). They were at Agura Opening Party too. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

Agura Grand Opening Big Party







Agura on LaCienega has just had a Grand Opening Party on Nov 7th 2009 from 6pm.
there is the large budda behind the sushi chef counter which is looking over the main floor.I was working as a hostess and was standing outside to invite Agura's guests and crossing out the names from the hundreds of the lists. It was freezing cold outside and I was not wearing warm. I was the one counting how many people were going inside. The total approximately 550 guests were coming through the door.

My good friends are now working, and the general manager Kiyo made it happened this event. It was very successful. Please try their food and enjoy your dining experience At Agura.

Mutual Trading Food show 共同貿易



共同貿易のフードショウに参加しました。

このときはたまたま、アズマフードのお手伝いのため、参加しました。酒Tastingのブースにはお昼休みの時間を借りて、昼間からいろいろナな酒をしたためていました。友達のTがいたので、一緒に楽しみました。このイベントは、昔、やっていた仕事のマネージャーから、今までお世話になった方たちが勢ぞろいの日になりました。これからもネットワークを続けて和を大切にしていきたいです。
I have attended the mutual trading food show a month ago. It was happened to be helping Azuma foods which is based in San Francisco area and all over the nation and canada. I was really enjoying the time at the lunch time. I utirised the lunch time as a time for the Sake tasting. There were so many great vendors who were try to promote their products. and also it was very good oppurtunity to meet people and Networkings. I saw people from the time I had a first job and friends. I can not say enough thank you to them. I would like to keep good relationships with them and want to expand networks.

Sam Woo Duck Duck...




Sam Woo is the place to eat duck and chinease food. they are located several places in the china towns throughout Los Angeles. The reasonalble price and the quantity of the foods are very satisfing. One of my oldest friends in LA Mr.D, was the first person to introduce to me about this place. I used to go many times, but not so much anymore because of my schedule and where I live. About a week ago I happened to be able to enjoy their food. it was very good. If you want to be very casual, this is good place to eat. It reminds me family dinning.

sake tasting event at Sake Institute of America




Pasadenaは古きよき町、閑静で歴史的な建物が並ぶ町並み。Los Angelesの中心地から車で20-30分北方角へ向かった位置にある。一見普段からは見慣れないヨーロッパへ来た錯覚を覚える、きれいなそして少しいさびしい待ちなっみ。多分、Los Angeles特有の乾いた空気、夕方から夜の変わり目がそのような感覚をもたらすのであろう。9月23日夕方、初秋の季節、Sushi and Sake 編集長のDavid Kudoさんと酒と料理の講習会へ参加しました。PasadenaのColorado Blvd にお店を構える、Mr Koji Wongを中心とする Sake Institute Of America 講習会が無いときは粋な酒の種類の多い日本食。この講習会のテーマは秋の第一回目。各季節ごとに5回から8回のテーマ別のSake Tastingの会が行われます。
Mr. Wongの酒に対する熱心さと知識の豊富さには驚きでした。きちんと用意されたテーブル向かいあわせに合計で12人ほど座れ、食器類、お箸、各席には名札が気持ちよく配置され、証明も明るすぎず、暗すぎず、従業員も参加者せいとにきを張らせない気配りがとてもよい印象。参加者の面ぶれはお酒、食に貪欲なこの会を通じて酒好きで、酒を知りたい、学びたいと様々な年齢層と職業。飲食は本当に境目をなくしてくれる、良い役目をするものなんだな。
全部で5種類の酒、そして4種類の料理をいただきました。お酒の楽しみ方はさまざま、食前、口に含んでいるとき、食後と同じ酒でもまったく違った顔をみせます。酒の種類も様々で、酒自体でおいしさを放つものもあれば、食べ物と一緒になってお酒の良さを引き立て、食べ物も引き立てるものもある。料理自体が辛さがあるものを、酒を飲むことでまろやかにしてくれる効果がある。酒の濃度や、米の磨きの割合で同じ米でもまったく違う特質がでる。驚くことに口に含むときの温度でまったく違う特質をみせる。今回のうれしい発見は、人肌温度に熱しられた酒がとてもおいしいと感じたこと。五橋という酒でした。普段冷酒を好んで飲む私が温酒をおいしいと幹事ることはまれです。新しい発見をするのは会に参加したことならではのこと。この季節ならではの酒、秋月も試しました。特にこの酒はワイングラスで飲むと最適だそう。最後は年齢を重ねた酒、色が琥珀色とてもきれい。この酒はワインで言う甘さと、香りのあるデザートワイン。
お開きの近い時間になって参加者全員でじゃんけんポンをして懸賞をきそいました。とても高価な酒2本と酒グラスセットが懸賞。参加者全員がとても楽しんでいる様子、主催者の参加者に対する万遍の無い気配り、コミカルなテンポ、酒に対する深い知識が印象的。是非Sake Institute Of America
をもっとより良い人に知ってほしい。もう少し大きな規模で展開しても面白いでしょう。
